A partridge in a pear tree alone
Pickin' at leaves that are gone
Frozen all through his hollow bones
Screamin' out all remaining tones
The south is where he wants to be
Where it's warm and he can be free
A partridge in a pear tree
Waiting for a pear to fall
He don't know there are no pears at all
Winter don't lend well to trees
The partridge he crumbles to his knees
How could he have been so dumb
At least he knows what he's dying from
A partridge in a pear tree
