There's a fire growing in my heart
I jumped in my sleep, I awoke with a start
There's a fire burning in my heart
And I just can't seem to tear the two apart

Never will there come a day
When this fire can be kept at bay
Never can I ever say
That the fire has gone away

This fire's spreading pretty far
Reaching from my legs up to my arms
Taking the command of all my body parts
Turning my gears and shooting sparks
The fire might grab ya like a swim with sharks
So watch out, good luck, it's no walk in the park

This is just one of my fears
Hope you don't get it as bad as I've got it here
Shooting stars filling up the atmosphere
Walking off the edge of a burning pier
The feel of hot metal as it starts to sear
And it can be so that your sight becomes unclear

But in spite of all the pain
I am happy for the flame
It keeps me bright and out of the rain
And there's nothing to lose, everything to gain
